*Does HDMI from an HD5570 carry audio?

I think the answer is no, unless you are using bit streaming and a fancy stereo reciever to decode, but I am hoping.

Thanks for any tips, I have no clue when it comes to HTPC systems. Russ

The 5770 passes audio and video through HDMI.

Yes, assuming you install the driver for the Realtek chip, and use a ATI specific DVI->HDMI converter.

Hey Guys.
Thanks for the link & info.
my board is a asus P5B deluxe/E6600. It is a pciE x16 slot, but pciE 2.0 is backwards compatible from what I've read.

I'm sure I will install any accompanying drivers. What is an example of a ATI specific DVI-HDMI converter? PowerDVD 9?

If the card has HDMI port (most have) you will not need the converter (presuming the TV has HDMI).
