How do I retrieve movie files after I cut and pasted them to hard drive?

Hello,
I cut and pasted all my movies taken on my phone from my laptop to and external hard drive, the was damged and no files can be retrieved from it. Is it possible to retrieve the data from my PC?

Sadly, no. If your HDD is damaged and doesn't function, the data is gone

how long ago was that when you delete it from you laptop?

Take note that you'd better recover your files as early as possible.
