Does anybody know a solution that would allow watching a remote Windows
XP desktop? Desktop Sharing does not help, it gives full control of the
remote desktop, and shuts down the remote desktop's user. What I need
is no control, only observation, and the remote user should be able to
continue working. Preferably, the remote user should not even be aware
that his/her desktop is under observation. This solution is needed for
real time monitoring of Point of Sale computers for security purposes.
Does Microsoft or any other vendor offer such capability?

Thank you in advance,
Serge Baduk

Investigate VNC (Virtual Network Computing).

http://www.realvnc.com/
http://www.tightvnc.com/
or do a google search for VNC.

You can even control Macs from PCs with VNC.
