Hey there,

Another in a line of ''what do you think of my spec'' posts. This is a potential build I put together based the general items that seemed to come up again and again in suggestions. Id love a quick glance over, and any suggestions or comments on things that I'm forgetting or wouldnt work together. Im not technically savy at all (a friend is going to put this together for me, but I didnt want to make him do *all* the work for me) so Im not quite confident in my choices, even tho I read a bunch of reviews and posts before selecting.

I'd like to stay under $1000. Actually, even less would be better but I want a system that will stay at least reasonably up to date for several years. When I say "lite gaming", I truly do mean that. About the only thing I do on it currently is web, WoW, and an occasional movie. My current computer, that I've had for aprox 4 years and handles what I do with only a little bit of grumbling, is something like a Dell 1.92 GHz intel with 2 GB ram and maaaaybe a 256 MB graphics card So, whatever it turns out to be, it'll definately be an upgrade.

{edit: Friend has just informed me that I'll need a fan(s?) and he's not sure if the graphics card will word together}

Also, I didnt bother to factor any peripherals in; Ill take care of all that later, but I cant see myself having anything larger than a 21'' screen.

Without further ado... (everything off newegg.com)

not a bad build at all.

I'd suggest the extra $15 for the Seagate 7200.12 1 TB Drive (It's $69.99 this month).

the 870 board is a 16x/4x PCIe, meaning its single card only, really. a 750W PSU is overkill. a 400W that can handle this is as low as $39.99 (The Xigmatek PC-402 got rave reviews her on toms)

rather than the Cruiser, consider the Challenger or Destroyer, or the Antec 300/300 Illusion or Cooler Master HAF 912 and 690II, all cheaper and still great cooling systems.

With the money saved you can get a 5850 instead of the 5770.
