Nvidia 310m vs ati 5730

hello community of techs !
i am debating on whether to get the Asus n61 --which has the ATI in it-- and Asus Bamboo U53 --which has the nvidia 310m--. My usage preference would be architectural designing which relates to my school work and a bit of gaming and entertainment.

The 310M is a renaming of the Geforce 210 which is a very weak card, i would definitely go for the 5730 since you plan to do a bit of gaming on it.

what about ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD5730 vs nVidia GeForce GT 425M ? both runs dx 11 but 425m has higher numbers in tech spec

hmm then maybe i was reading the specs wrong... can you please double check for me ? i always thought higher numbers means better...

Those people are never wrong. Also read this from their NVIDIA Geforce GT 425M page:

In our tests with an Acer Aspire 5745PG pre-sample, a GT 420M performed on average between a GeForce GT 330M and GT 335M. Therefore, the GT 425 should be a bit faster than the GT 335M. Nvidia positions the card against the Mobility Radeon HD 5650.

Edit: For GPUs it's more about the technology than the numbers.

It's a benchmark to see how powerful your computer is graphics-wise. In reality, synthetic benchmarks like 3dmark can't be taken too seriously... They only give a general idea. The real test is actual game benchmarks.

i seen many posts on the benchmarks but never seen a game benchmark. do you happen to know the link(s) for it ?
