I am new to oc.
I currently have a qx6700 overclocked to 3.2 just increased the multiplier.
My motherboard is a gigabyte ga-965p-ds4
G. card geforce 9600gt 512 ram
My pc is about 4 years old.

I was wondering how fast the i7 950 would be compared to my present system
I was considerinig the following
Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced PC Tower Case
Asus Sabertooth X58 TUF LGA1366 DDR3 ATX
Cooler Master HYPER 212 Plus CPU Fan
OCZ Technology OCZ PC3-12800 Obsidian 6 GB or
G.SKILL G.Skill F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ D3 6 GB 1333-999 NQ K3 GSK

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 460 - 1024 MB
Corsair Memory 750W tx psu

Would I see much difference

I use it for photography and my son plays some games

what is not performing to your satisfaction at the moment?

Filters in PS might be a bit quicker? Gaming obviously a lot better.

Its fine but I would like to upgrade I only have a little oc knowledge so I just increased the multiplieriin the bios.

I was interested in the spec for the new pc but I was wondering would I see much difference. I understand that its a lot easier to oc the 950
