If the "booting order is blank," you may simply have to fix the boot, followed by formatting the new disk.

When you change drive population, boot order information is reset and usually defaults to the drive on the lowest-numbered port. That's why my SSD is on port 1; no matter how often I plug in and remove drives, it boots from the SSD.

So either put your boot drive on port 1, go into the BIOS during boot and restore the boot order, or press F8 during the POST and you will probably get a boot menu. Then partition and format the new drive; see this: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/265764-32-guide-insta... .

Let us know if none of our suggestions help, and exactly what message you see. Also, will your system boot if you remove the new drive? Is it installed internally?
