Quick silver freezes on mac logo

quick silver dual port, freezes on mac logo. So I can't use cd tray.
It was running normally for many years. The only malfunction was the clock, going crazy every time i started up.
Nothing was changed in configuration from the last time.

Given the age of the system, it could be just about anything. Do you have the diagnostic disk for your system? If so, you might be able to force the system to boot from the optical drive to get it to check out your status. If you can't do that, I would assume the logic board (motherboard in PC speak) has kicked the bucket. Good luck!
