Old HD content-- New HD

Hello, everyone. My Dad's laptop recently went bad, but the HD still works. He has a new laptop coming, but wants to be able to use an exact Windows image of his old HD on his new laptop. What's the proccess needed to be able to do this?

They new laptop coming has Windows on it already, plus it's pretty much the exact same laptop as before so there shouldn't be much driver issues.
