FSX frame rate issues

I just put a brand new computer together, not sparing quality for cost. I bought 2 ATI 5870 cards corssfired together and I still get frame jumping when maxed out but also at lower settings to about 50% of the sliders. If anyone can help with any ideas I would appreciate your help.

From what I understand, FSX is a mess of code that has been updated many times without an overhaul. The result is that FSX does not run as well as it should.

I've also heard the biggest bottleneck to FSX is the CPU, not the graphics card. What CPU are you using and at what speed?

It seems FSX is also capped at 20 FPS, which definately limits what you can expect.

What operating system are you running? And, what version of ATI Catalyst Suite (hopefully 10.8) are you using?
