Hello, trying to get full function from BD-Rom.
PNP Device ID shows IDE\CDROM How can I change this To SATA for Blu ray burn. Win 7 64bit

SATA ports can have 3 settings (modes): IDE, AHCI, & RAID.

All optical drives (CD, DVD, Blu-Ray) Read and Write at SATA 1 (1.5Gb/s) speeds.

So you will have the same performance if your BD drive is in IDE or AHCI mode.

So you can leave your BD drive in its current mode.

thanks for reply Dereck47. I have two SATA drives both PNP device ID IDE\CDROM .DVDRW in loc 1 no problem it's not a Blu ray burner.loc 2 BD-Rom

missing the Blu Ray burning function, can burn any other disc type no problem. BD-R disc not recognized. I thought BD burning required SATA setting?
I've just started researching this, but I've read SATA setting required in a couple threads.
