Need backup some data from corrupted hard disk

hi there...i need to ask u all something..for some reason my laptop is become so damn slow....i need 15 min..to open some file...in my desktop.. now i need to backup the file i need to my external... but i took too damn long...to backup..... is there any other suggestion...to backup my file to other hard disk...

thank for the reply ericka...i have tried it...but to install the software took me about an hour..and another hour for just to retrieve the data using the software...do u have any other suggestion
