M4 entire data now completely unallocated!

January 29, 2013 12:45:31 AM

So I made a fairly large mistake today.

I had a new hard-drive come in the mail early this week, so I installed it as a slave to my main SSD (M4) on my laptop. Everything was going smoothly until it stopped transferring files and basically started to slow my system down.

I booted into BIOS to look around and see if there was any problems. I changed the boot settings to Raid to see if it did anything, and then my SSD went kaput. Big mistake.

Now my laptop only recognizes the new HDD. Hooking my SSD up to my other computer via USB, I've come to find out the entire SSD is now apparently "Unallocated". All 120GB of it. Is there anything I can do to recover the files, or will I have to completely start all over and reformat the drive?

Thanks for any help
