GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 capable of surround sound?

Just wondering if the GIGABYTE GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard is capable of outputting Dolby digital 5.1 surround sound via it's optical output, or if I will need a sound card to do so. Thanks!

What does the owners manual say. And usually an optical connector is quite capable of outputing Dolby Digital 5.1.

I don't see anywhere in the spec's that it has Dolby Digital 5.1. It looks like it has HD Audio.
