Hi all, I'm new here but I follow you for a long time. I decided to write here because I need your help to choose the best config for an image editing system. I just have the case (thermaltake shark), HDDs ... so I just need your help to choose the mobo, cpu + dissipator, RAM (at least 4gb), GPU and PSU.
My budget is about 400$

thx in advance

A better place to start would be the forums for the photo editing software you plan to use. You want to know if it can fully utilize a quad-core processor or if you're better off with a faster dual-core. You also need to know what GPU technologies it might be optimized for before chosing Nvidia vs. AMD/ATI. You might also find 8gb is what you'll need to get those files into memory for editing w/o paging.

+1, except for the fact this is a 400$ system, no quadcore, and hardly a good GPU....

IF you can, wait until you have around 600$, IMHO
