XDR2 Memory for desktop PC's ???

Since AMD & Radeon will be using XDR2 Memory for the new 7000 series GPU's, I'm just curious if Rambus XDR2 Memory will be available in memory sticks for consumer desktop PC's anytime soon and at what price?

AMD Radeon HD 7900 to Utilize New XDR2 Rambus Memory

I wonder if the new XBox 720 console will use it since the PS3 already does?

* Edit: Turns out that XDR2 Memory will NOT be used on the entire 7000 GPU series, it's only the 7900 series = 7950, 7970 & 7990.

Yeah, you're probably right. I just was hoping that with the new, next generation platforms coming out that they'd introduce XDR2 memory sticks for desktop computers. Especially since they seem to be stuck in a rut with DDR3.

If nothing else, I thought maybe they'd introduce XDR2 memory sticks to help conserve about 35% more energy while getting twice the speed, as Rambus explains in these videos.
