ASRock P67 Extreme 4 gen3

Sorry for the noob question,im still kinda new to building comps,i have a asrock p67 extreme4 gen3,my question is I have a msi gtx580 pci 2.0 what slot do I put this in, I have it in the first pci slot but I think its 3.0pci would it afect performance? So if someone with same mobo can tell me where they have therir gpu card that would be helpfull

If by "first slot" you mean the slot closest to the CPU then yes it is a 3.0 slot, and no it will not negatively affect the performance. In other words you can (should) leave it in that slot.
