Hello,
I just put together a new PC and am using an ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX professional series motherboard. The RAM I am using is Patriot Division 2 Viper Xtreme DDR3 1866 MHz (I have two 4 gig cards). Also, I am using an AMD Phenom II X4 955 (awaiting the Zambezi). I boot up the system, I get no video output, and the board gives me error code 54 "Unspecified Memory Initialization Error". Does anyone know what this means and / or how I can fix it? Thanks

Did you try using just 1 stick of memory?

Yeah. I did just get a response from ASRock and they said that to run more than 1600 memory, I need to have at least 6 cores "like it clearly says on their website". Tell me if I'm wrong but does this not say the 6 core requirement is for 2000+? http://www.asrock.com/mb/memory.asp?Model=Fatal1ty%2099...

Anyways, I guess I'll just try 1600 and hope it works.

Yeah, you are right, it only says for speeds above 2000... Never been a big fan of ASRock :/

Just tried 1600 and it still doesn't work... Guess I'll have to RMA it. I love RMA'ing things!
