im getting a new PC, but using a old harddrive. Should I do a system restore to sync all the new hardware?

That's not what a system restore does. If you are putting an old OS drive on a new motherboard, chances are it won't work well or at all. The drivers will be for the old motherboard. A clean install of the OS is recommended when replacing the motherboard. You can try a repair install, but results aren't guaranteed.

    Yeah thanks.

That's what I meant by a system restore like a clean wipe and re-install windows.

    Thank you.
