Just finished my first comp and nothing works

Hello everyone. I just finished my first comp, and sorry to say it didn;t work out so well. Nothing is turning on and I have followed the instructions of assembly to the T. I was told that static electircity can mess uop your comp and I did build it on a carpet. Any suggestions or test I should know of
