Mboard = ASROCK 775XFire-VSTA
PSU = 550W
RAM = 4GB

Installed ATI HD 5770 XFX RADEON Card, in PCI Express x 16 slot both the CPU and GPU fan turn on and then turn off continually, when the 6pin power cable is connected to the unit. with the 6pin power cable disconnected the CPU and the GPU fan WORK but I get the 8 beep error sound.

The unit works when it is installed in the AGI Express slot (PCI Express x 4) but the GPU fan runs slow and the unit seems to run a little hot.

Please advise.
thanks.

Sounds like your PSU isn't very good. Is it just an OEM PSU?

If it came with an empty case is just a non-brand PSU. You should buy a decent PSU.

When you tried your card with an aftermarket 450W, what brand?
Can you try it again with another PC with a decent PSU? It could be you got a bad card...
