Can't get ATI catalyst to detect second video card for Crossfire

I have a Biostar TA-790GX mobo and recently purchased 2 Radeon HD5770 cards to crossfire. Neither the mobo nor the cards came with a crossfire bridge interconnector. Do I need to purchase one or is there a way to get these working together without it?

You need one, but it should still detect 2 cards.

It detects both but disables the second card. I went ahead and ordered the bridge, thanks for your help.

No problem. It should work after you connect the bridge.
