I built 2 identical systems about a year and a half ago for me and a family member.

Specs :
Asus P6T Deluxe V2 mobo
Intel Core I7 CPU 2.66Ghz OC'ed to 3.6Ghz
6GB Corsair Dominator Ram (TR3X6G1600C8D)
Noctua NH-U12P Heatsinc (2 Fans)
Western Digital
7200 1TB HD
EVGA GeForce GTX 280 Vid Card
Corsair TX750W Power Supply
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

About 3 weeks ago I started getting random crashes while playing games.
Computer seems fine outside of playing games.
The crash would consist of a system lock up with the screen filling up with color of just random junk.

I swapped out video cards and no luck.

I then today ran CPUID just to check on some things.
Here are the results off of the RAM tab :

Type : DDR3
Channels # : Triple
Size : 6144 MBytes
NB Frequency : 2878.5 MHz (fluctuates)
DRAM Frequency : 719.7 MHz
FSB:DRAM : 2:8
CAS# Latency (CL) : 4.0 Clocks
RAS# to CAS# Delay (tRCD) : 9 Clocks
RAS# Precharge (tRP) : 9 Clocks
Cycle Time (tRAS) : 24 Clocks
Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC) : 74 Clocks
Command Rate (CR) : 1T

Now the CAS# Latency (CL) of the other system I built is 9.0 Clocks.
So I guess what I am asking is if this is a problem? Bad RAM stick or sticks? Something on the motherboard? Some setting in the bios?
Very stumped. Thanks to all who help!!

I would download and run overnight MemTest86+ 4.0 or higher. This will test your RAM for any errors. Errors equal defective RAM (specially if you have not made any BIOS adjustments). From there, you can begin testing one at a time to narrow down the issue.

Thanks tecmo34 for the fast responce. Tonight I think I will try that. On a side note, just rebooted and my CAS# Latency (CL) is reading 9.0 Clocks again in CPUID. Go figure. I guess I will just keep an eye on it.

Anyone else with any ideas? I'm starting to go a little crazy here. Lol. Thanks again!!

Ok, I tried to run a game and of course the system crashed.

When I rebooted, I went into my BIOS just to see if I missed anything.
All of my overclocked settings were all back to defaults. The Bios defaulted everything back to factory settings.

I am at wits end. Please help!!

Ok, got 10 passes overnight with MemTest86+ with no errors.

CPU under load : 60c
MB under load : 57c
GPU under load : 83c

Have not changed or added anything in over a year.

Well I started testing the sticks 1 at a time and think I narrowed it down to the 1 that is bad. I wish I had just did that in the first place (lesson learned).

Thanks for all the help guys!!
