Hey. If you want to spend $1500, you can get a pretty killer system that could last you for the next 3 years. Check it out.

CPU: Core i7 950 ($300)
CPU Heatsink: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus ($30)
MOBO: ASUS Sabertooth X58 ($200)
RAM: G.Skill Pi Series 1600 MHz, CAS 7 ($155)
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500 GB ($55)
GPU: 2 x GTX 470 ($540)
PSU: Corsair 950TX ($120)
CASE: HAF 922 ($90)

TOTAL: $1490

Wait, do you already have a monitor and OS or is that included in the $1500?

If so, maybe something like this would be better

CPU: Core i5 760 ($208)
MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD4P LGA 1156 ($184)
GPU: 2 x GTX 470 ($540)
RAM: G.SKILL ECO 4 GB (2 x 2GB), 1600 MHz, CAS 7 ($95)
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500 GB ($55)
PSU: Corsair 950TX ($120)
CASE: HAF 922 ($90)
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OEM ($100)
Monitor: Samsung LED ($170)

TOTAL: $1562

If you don't need it right away, you could wait for black friday and see what deals come out of that.

Both of those are pretty solid builds, though.

oh man! black friday is the day after thanksgiving where every store has mad sales on their stock. you can pick up some really good deals if your willing to brave the masses and venture out into the madness (or sit comfortably in front of your monitor at home like i do lol)

IMHO you should go with 5830s when the price drops (definitly by december)....

540$ in just GPUs is a little much.... Black ops is going to be DX9, I dunno on WOW, never played it... XD

The i7 950 is tentatively (IMHO) not worth it, you can get a 920, for alot cheaper, and OC to better....

You cannot get a 920 for a lot cheaper. They are the same price, so there's no sense in getting the 920 over the 950. In the US, the 950 is like $294 and the 920 (if you can find it) is like $289. Same thing but you get 340 MHz basically for free.

I do agree that this system is overkill, but I just tried to fill the budget. If he wants a $1500 gaming pc, this is about as good as it can get. And if he doesn't plan to upgrade in a while, then it's a plus to have something really fast now. two 470s will probably carry him for a loooooooooooooooong time. It's a good investment depending on how long he plans to keep the current system.

Where do you live joakimc2? From where can you purchase your parts?
