Hello

First time in this newsgroup. Hope I am not duplicating any previous
posting.

Wanting to add 256 Mb more memory to a Toshiba Satellite 1900. It
currently has 768 Mb with 256 Mb presumably on the system board (?) as I
cannot see it, and 512 Mb in one accessible memory socket. There is one
empty socket.

Would anyone know how I access the empty socket which is located under
an aluminum "cover" of some sort? I am in unchartered territory for me
and don't want to wreck anything. There is one retaining screw in the
cover but it does not seem to have any way I can see to undo it - it is
a bit like a small rivet. Is there another way to access the empty
socket or am I on the wrong track? The Toshiba user manual did not
clarify it & I do not have a technical manual.

Any help appreciated.
