Search for "External USB Hard Drive Enclosure" add 3.5" or 2.5", IDE or SATA to find the right adapter for your need. One example for 'External USB 3.5" SATA Hard Drive Enclosure'
Here is another option. With this rack you can use in an available optical drive bay converting it to "Hard Drive bay" plus adding two USB ports. It connects internally like an ordinary hard drive with the exception that you can insert and remove the hard drive... this particular item is for SATA 3.5" and 2.5" but you can probably find one for IDE interface.
Do you want to use the HDD once to remove the data or continue to use it?
If just once, use a raw connector as that will be easier and have more use in the future. If you want to continue to use the HDD then buy an enclosure for it.
