Sempron for Web Server

As the title suggests, I'm wondering if a new Sempron will be able to support a simple web server. It probably won't have high traffic, and will only host some, if at all, multimedia files.

So far, I heard that web servers typically aren't CPU intensive. Is this true?

Sempron should be ok for a small home server, a dual core would be better.
