WD Passport is recognized but closes and re-opens constantly

Hello,

I bought a 1TB passport and I managed to copy my old computer files to it, but when I have it open on my new computer, which runs off of Windows 8, it loads then closes repeatedly.

It almost seems like there is a loose connection, but it doesn't seem to happen on every computer, just my new laptop.

Thoughts?

If it's a power issue, try a USB Y-cable. This will pick up power from two USB ports.
