bare in mind that this will be my first ever build that is why i'm buying the anti-static wrist band. what do you guys think? should i change anything? should i wait for prices to go down by black friday/christmas?

i've also been reading that the amd 955 would run better with an after market cooler so i've been looking at:

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64 Pro 92mm Ceramic CPU Cooler: $39.99
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM: $9.99

but, if i could, i would like to buy those a couple of months after... does that make any sense?

btw, for the case i bought the Cooler Master RC-690-KKN1-GP a couple of months ago.

Looks like we have about the same budget and are going for the same purpose. I was able to bring it down to $796 with someones suggestion of getting a bundled 955 BE with a cheaper case, which you can see lower in the thread.
