I literally just took asus laptop 2010 out of box, backed up software for windows 7 and tried several times to connect to neighbor g wifi signals. It keeps telling me it can't connect and reverts me to set up. I don't want to set up a neighbor's system permanently as it's public access. My online access isn't running until Monday. Why won't it connect? Owners manual is lie five pages and says nothing. Anyone know what to do???

The network may not have wireless security on but it may have Access List (include/exclude by the MAC ID unique to each piece of networking gear) enabled.

Instead of nicking your neighbour's wifi, wait till Monday !
