I am new to using my laptop, and I need to clean the screen. Can I use an
ordinary glass cleaner on it?

Thanks for your help

You'll get a lot of responses to this one, I expect! I recommend using
a little glass cleaner on a tissue, then using the tissue to clean the
screen gently. Be careful not to push the dust into the corners of the
screen - try to collect it on the tissue instead. I've been doing this
once a month or so for more than a year, and my screen is in perfect
condition still.

Just be gentle :)

Hey LW

Turn of your computer and clean it carefully. =) The best way to clean
your computer screen will depend on the type of laptop you have. Check
your owner's manual first to see what the manufacturer suggests. You
can also use a microfiber or cleaning cloth designed for computers,
available at computer stores. Dust the screen often with a dry, soft
cloth or a special mini blower created for that purpose, because it can
attract an amazing amount of dust in a short time. I turn off my
laptop, and wipe it with a soft cloth. I never touch the screen or
drink around it so I don't have chemicals on it. But if you do, you can
use a little water to clean it, only enough to remove the stain. Then
dry it with a cloth. Make sure that your computer isn't on! I've had 3
laptops and have never had a screen go out on me. (1 given away, and 2
I still have) Good luck!

Go to the eyeglass store and get cleaner for eyeglasses. Lightly (read:
don't use force) dust the screen with a very soft cloth. You can use their
eyeglass-cleaner tissues or possibly an old (and therefore "soft" )
handkerchief. Don't spray enough to run down the screen: preferibly spray
onto the handkerchief itself. Be gentle. Buff in one direction first. Follow
it with a buff in the cross-direction. If you are gentle enough, and the
screen is in perfect condition, it will come out looking factory-new. Mine
does. (Toshiba 1415, 2 1/2 years old.)
