Internet only works for firefox

Hello,
My internet works great for firefox but all programs that require internet wont work(itunes,games,Internet explorer, etc) i have tried turning off/on the firewall restarting computer/router nothing works.

any help

Do you have a proxy server defined within firefox or internet explorer? A lot of programs will use whatever settings are in IE... so if you accidentally put something in there (or conversely NEED something in there and don't have it) then it could certainly explain a lot of it.
