Ssd suggestion

Yes, any sata compatible motherboard will support an SSD. I would make sure you are using a SATA III cable to take advantage of the drives full speed. However I can't say I would recommend sandisk or any Sanforce Driven product.

From my experience they are buggier than others.
Crucial(micron) SSD's seem to be the most consistently reliable.

Another alternative is to use an SSD as a cache drive paired with a Hard drive to take advantage of the speed and storage together without having to worry about the ssd's reliability.

There are several choices out their for SSD's bundled with caching software. I can't say that any have a distinct advantage over others with the exception of the size of the SSD which is important if you have a lot of applications or games you want to always be accessed at high speed.
