MCP61SM-AM cpu's

Hello,
i have this MCP61SM-AM with a 2.8ghs 5400 and i want to know what is the best cpu this board will hold, im having troubles finding anything solid for results. a buddy of mine said i could get a quad core for it but im not paying that much for a shot in the dark. also will this board hold an i5? im just not certain about this stuff

It's an AMD motherboard. No Intel processor will work.
