USB Flash Drive says no media in disk part instead of online

ok so i am trying to put my operating system on my flash drive but when i go to disk part next to disk 1 it say no media insteand of online like the other disk it shows. i dont have anything on the drive so i assumed thats what it meant but when i tried to proceed it wouldnt let me(assuming because it doesnt say online)how do i fix this

Windows Setup doesn't support installing the OS to a pen drive.

You can install Windows from a pen drive, but not to one.

ok thats what i meant the point is i need the usb to say online not no media how do i fix that
