Hi, this will be my first time building a computer and would like advice on choosing some components.

Approximate Purchase Date:
This month or next

Budget Range:
$2,000 New Zealand dollars approximately equals to $1,500 U.S. dollars though components here seems to cost a tad bit more, willing to stretch.

System Usage from Most to Least Important:
Gaming, Media Transcoding, Compiling designs

Parts Not Required:
Mouse, Keyboard, Speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
http://pricespy.co.nz/
http://www.alphacity.co.nz/

Country of Origin:

New Zealand

Parts Preferences:
Intel CPU

Overclocking:
Maybe

SLI or Crossfire:
No

Monitor Resolution:
1920x1080

Additional Comments:

I would like to be able play games at decent settings. I play mostly Starcraft 2, World of Warcraft (Cataclysm) and might try some FPS soon.
I hope it would also decrease the compilation time when using the following programs: Altera Quartus 2, Altium Designer, Nios 2 Software Build Tools for Eclipse, LTSpice IV, MATLAB
I also would want to to be able to transcode media files. Currently my laptop transcodes media files and streams them to my PS3 up to 1080p without stutter but only if it's only doing this task.
(Laptop --wireless--Router--wire--PS3)
I also plan to run with dual monitor (gaming while working :D ) and the would like to be able to run all of the above at the same time without the stream stuttering.
I would like 2 HDDs, 1st HDD (SSD?) for the OS and other files and 2nd HDD for the media files.

so far:
First Build
Monitor: Samsung P2370H
Internal Wireless Adapter: ?
Internal Memory Card Reader: ?

My current dying "Desktop": HP Pavilion dv6723tx

Thanks in advance
