Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 and G.SKILL

I was already set to buy this motherboard but now I see on both the Asrock and G.SKILL website my G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9Q-16GBRL is nowhere to be found to be compatible. I think it's because the motherboard is relatively new. Does anyone else have these two components in their PC?

It's also not listed on the supported memory list of the Asrock Fatal1ty P67 Professional, nor is it listed on the supported memory list of the Asrock Z68 Extreme 4, so I don't think it's not on the supported memory list because the board is new.

You need to go with the GSkill Ripjaws X series. It is on the supported memory list:

I have the Asrock Fatal1ty z68 Professional board and I'm using this:

with no problems. Actually, I bought 2 sets of 2x4GB. Those were available on a Shellshocker deal Friday or Sat. dirt cheap for only $40 ea.

The G.Skill [ Ripjaws ] F3-12800CL9Q-16GBRL (4Gx4) should work absolutely fine with the ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 motherboard.

Appearing on a list guarantees nothing. It just means that someone plugged the memory modules into the memory slots of the motherboard and it booted up. If you think that extensive memory tests were performed you're sadly mistaken.

You should call or email Asrock. If the memory is not on the supported memory list for any of those boards, it's probably not on them for a reason. If Asrock confirms the memory "should work absolutely fine," then save that email for if/when it doesn't work. I would not gamble $240 on the board hoping that the memory might work. Only buy the board if you are prepared to buy the proper supported memory if/when your existing memory doesn't work. It's your time and it's your money.
