I have a RAID 5 on an ASUS mother board with 4 500GB drives. One drive went bad. RAID was reset to just using 3 drives. I am trying to add the 4th back in. I was told that the system would just rebuild the array after the new drive was formatted. That is not happening. Where do I need to go to rebuild the RAID array to the 4 drives?
Thank you,

Simply goto and download the raid manual for your mobo. It will tell you. Most likely you have to mark the new disk as spare in the raid bios. And delete the partition. raid needs a raw disk, because it creates it' own one.
