I've been having a strange problem with my PC since yesterday. When I leave it off overnight, and turn it on in the morning it won't boot. It turns on, gets to Win 7 welcome screen and stays there. But when I reset it, it turns on fine. Everything else works just fine, it's just that first boot that's the problem.

Any ideas?

What are the basic specs for your system?

Sounds like a video card hang to me. Try this, when you successfully get the system fully up, download and then install the latest video drivers for your video card (a.k.a. GPU), whether from nvidia.com or ati.com or intel.com.

When complete, shut the system down (not a restart). Wait a few minutes and try to boot the system again. If that fails, come on back for more advanced troubleshooting.

Good luck!

It was GPU, had something similar happen to me before. Cable going from PSU to GPU was loosly stuck, pushed it harder and is fine now.

Just make sure it clicks into place and you shouldn't have that problem again. Glad you figured it out. You did good!
