Data recovery from img file

Hello,
My external hard disk is dead. I created an img file
using Getdata back software. Now I dont know how to recover my files from this img file. Its not working in PowerIso, Daemon Tools etc

To restore the data back to the new hard drive, you have to use the same software that created the IMG file or any other software that can deal with IMG files.

Since you've already got GetDataBack, you may as well use that. Full tutorial here:

However, if you are asking how to extract just one particular file from the image, then you might like to try DMDE (freeware):

DMDE (DM Disk Editor and Data Recovery):

If DMDE doesn't see your files, then could you show us the first sector of the IMG file (in hexadecimal mode)? This will help us understand its structure.

Is the IMG file the same size as the original physical drive? If not, then perhaps it is compressed, in which case you would need GetDataBack to decompress it.

Are you able to see the hard drive on computer? If not, then you may have to get it repaired.
