Which Motherboard and Video Card Should I Go With?

I am building my first computer and I am not sure what motherboard to get. Here is my system so far:

ASUS VH242H Black 23.6" 5ms HDMI Full 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor

Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W

NZXT M59 - 001BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

APEVIA CF12SL-UBL 120mm Blue LED Case Fan

LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Black SATA Model iHAS424-98 LightScribe Support

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST31000528AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1600C8D

I wanted a GTX 470 Superclocked, but they bloody sold out today!!! Not fair. Anyone have a replacement suggestion? I literally only found out 5 minutes ago. What a letdown.

The motherboard that was suggested to me is this one:

But I noticed that this one is cheaper and similar:

I really don't know enough to choose. Is the more expensive one (and only by a little, plus free shipping) better? Worse?

Also, since I am a noob, does anyone have any other suggestions to make? It would be appreciated.

More about which motherboard video card with
  1. The Asus P7P55D-E Pro on the second link is a great mobo and will be plenty good for your build.

Regarding the GTX 470, I would suggest the HD 6870 but if you're brand loyal to nvidia and need it right away, any other GTX 470 is just as good if you're willing to OC them. There are some high clocked ones from Gigabyte, MSI, and Palit which are all good brands.
