Does anyone know if any 6-8 core processors will be released for the LGA 1155 socket at some point in time?

It's not likely, since Intel is releasing a new socket for high-end PCs / midrange workstations / small servers.
  2. I thought I read there would be 6 core CPUs on 1155
  3. ^+1 I read that there will be some 6 core CPUs for 1155, but if you want 8 or more cores you are probably looking at the new LGA2011 socket due out later in the year.
  4. ivy bridge 22nm will be compatible with 1155 but it may be that its not compatible with these 1155 boards that are out now. http://www.fudzilla.com/processors/item/21621-ivy-bridge-22nm-sticks-with-socket-1155
