Hard Drive for Gateway LX6810-01

Hello,
I have the above system with Vista Home Preium. I will use the computer for short time, and then it will shut off. I will then have to reboot. Is it a bad hard drive.

A failing harddrive usually doesnt cause the computer to shut off. thats often a temperature or power supply issue.

I have been having the same shutdown issues(but in Win 7) I put a much better CPU heatsink on it,...problem still existed. I just paid $30 at a local shop today and they said the motherboard chipset heatsink was hotter than a pistol. Note: it has a terribly small ineffective aluminum heatsink. I understand it is a Northbridge chipset. Here is a link I just found that addresses this VERY issue. It has been a long hunt to figure this LX6810-01 shutdown issue out. Well, I am 99% sure this is it after today's report from the local computer shop.

I am going to find a similar product and install it. I may not go into all the fans this guy shows, especially since I don't want to spend more $ and replace the Power supply, which is limited and won't handle very many fans.....evidently.
