More about will work
  1. The psu militia will slaughter you for that psu :)
Change it to a corsair or Antec unit quick :)
Not sure why a dual core in this day and age, but it's your call,
should be a functional little rig for surfing/light gaming though,
What is your intended plan for this pc?
and an idea of budget limit, ppl might come up with better for less :)

  2. Why do you wanna get an old Intel LGA775 system?
I would recommend AMD AM3 system for budget built instead of that.
  3. Oh jeebus, here comes the flame army.

Ok Ill start. DUDE THAT PSU SUCKS !@#%!@#!

Stop bein a cheapo and get a good one, and isn't Circuit City closed? Or did it reopen again? I think I heard that but I forgot bout it
  4. Sorry, this is my first time building a computer. My budget is around $450 and I want it to be able to record game footage while streaming for the most part. I already have a graphics card and OS so I don't need those.

How about this for a power supply?

That's definitely a huge improvement over your previous one.
  6. Other than the power supply, is everything else fine?

I'm also thinking of getting this CPU instead.

  7. That is a different socket chip, it wont fit your choice of mobo, you'd have to change that to a 1156 board as well if you want that chip,
if you fill this in, we can try to get the best system for your budget http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261222-13-build-advice

The parts I picked out are a major upgrade to what I have now and seem like good parts. So I would rather stick with them unless there was a problem (which would be great to know.)
  9. Well if you go for that chip and mobo I reckon you'll be onto a reasonable thing, only reason I said about the new build sheet was so we know budget and intended uses, could be we can build a great rig for less money, other than that, just doublecheck the memory is supported by mobo and chip,

  10. Thanks, I'll use this memory instead.

I think that'll be the final version of my list of parts. If someone can check it once more I'd be grateful.

  14. Thanks guys, I'll buy the parts soon and try to build it without pouring vodka on the motherboard.
  15. It wouldn't hurt it any tbh, although it would be a waste of vodka hehe,
plus your pc may develop taste for stolichnaya and refuse to work unless you pour more on it :P
