Help with Asus Sabertooth 990fx mobo

Ok so I ordered this motherboard to eventually upgrade to the bulldozer cpu but with my current cpu and ram it is having issues. Ever since I got this board I have been unable to post or if I got passed that I would be in windows for about 5min and it would get the BSOD. The current setup I have is a phenom ii x4 980 and g. skill 2x4gb 1600mhz memory which it says is compatible with that motherboard. When I had that ram in mobo would light up where the ram was at so I thought it was a ram issue.

So today I tried a new cpu which is a phenom ii x6 1080 cpu and the same g skill ram and the weird part is the red light goes away on the ram and is now on the cpu. Im totally lost and would love to use my computer again but I feel stuck. I feel like its either the ram or the mobo that is causing the problems but Im not sure which one.

This is my current setup

Silverstone PSU 1200 watts
Motherboard Sabertooth 990fx
CF x2 HIS 6870
G. SKills 2x4gb 1600mhz
SSD 120gb hdd
2 tb 7200rpm HDD

  2. Try booting with one DIMM. If it boots run Memtest86+ to check the DIMM. Then switch and test the other DIMM. If both check good, contact G.Skill tech Support for assistance. You can also try manually setting the RAM voltage and memory timings in BIOS if you can boot with one DIMM. Asus mobos seem more sensitive to RAM than other brands IME.
  3. if you can get into the bios youll need to manually set your cpu and memory voltage and speed. i had some of the same issues myself and all is well now
  4. Well the problem is I cant even get into bios anymore. The ram keeps setting the voltage to 1.6 when the ram is rated at 1.5. I havent overclocked the cpu or anything because nothing seems to work. You dont think it could possibly be a videocard?

i wouldn't think it would be a video card issue. It also auto sets your ram in ecc mode. If you've tried holding the ram button down for a couple seconds and it still dosent let you into the bios you may need to grab a different single stick of ram from a friend or another computer and pop it in just to get the bios manually set.
  6. Make sure in Bios that you have enabled the D.O.C.P then everything should work fine

Dram Command Rate 2T, CPU/NB Manual Voltage set 1.20, Dram Voltage set to 1.5

    Save and exit UEFI

    My memory is G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL DDR3-1600

    I am getting 9 9 9 24 2T @ 802.7 MHz
