I assembled my computer five years back.
Processor: Intel Pentium D 930 (4M Cache, 3.00 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Motherboard: Intel 945 GNT.
Few days back it developed some problem wherein it became impossible to install a Windows operating system.I am told by my computer engineer that the mother board needs to be replaced.Since Intel 945 GNT mother board is no longer produced by intel I was advised to change my processor and motherboard. Can't I keep my old processor replacing only the motherboard with some newer alternative ? I would prefer 4GB+ memory support.
Any motherboard compatible with Intel Pentium D 930 processor ?Any brand Asus .Intel or Gigabyte ?
