When building my new pc..

Since this pc is going to be my very first self built computer I am being very cautious with my parts. Is it safe to set my new motherboard down on my kitchen table (where I am building the pc) while I put the ram and such in it. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!

Pretty much. But if you don't have anything else, I'd put the motherboard on the anti-static bag it came in.
