I tried installing Windows 7 using the boot DVD created using the Microsoft Win 7 tool. I have 2 drives-CDRW/DVD-ROM and a DVDRW. The Boot disk was in the CDRW. Though I changed the boot sequence to CDROM 1st, it didnt and booted the Vista from the HDD. What could be the problem? Help greatly appreciated.

  1. Even though you changed the boot sequence to CDROM first, you need to make sure that your CDRW is the drive it boots from. There should be another option somewhere that lets you select a primary disc drive and make sure the CDRW is selected first.
