Hello everyone,
I have a problem here, I am trying to upgrade my old Abit BE6-II system w/Celeron 300A to a Abit SE6 w/700 PIII running WinXP. I am keeping all the other hardware the same and XP is already loaded on the hard drive. The problem is that when I first boot the computer with the new motherboard and processor I get an error when XP should be coming up. It says I should check for viruses, check the hard drive, etc. Does anyone know anyway around this? it seems to be hard drive related from the error message. Might I be able to get into XP somehow to update the drivers or something? Right now, with the new motherboard I am unable to get into XP via normal or safe mode. Thank you for your help, if you need any more specifics just ask. Note: I am using XP Professional and have a Western Digital 7200RPm hard drive, one of their first 7200 RPM ones.
