If you want to overclock it to around 3.6-4.0 ghz or so, or if you want to keep your components cooled without spending too much money, a decently priced after market cooler doesn't hurt. If you do not plan to overclock or don't care too much about heat in your system, your stock should be fine.

Nope. You can even overclock it on the stock cooler a little bit but why get the K model and not overclock? Save $25 and get the normal one.
